About The Bursary

​

The Know Your Brain bursary is an annual award for students who have been involved with the youth justice system and have shown increased self- awareness and responsibility with the goal of creating a bountiful life.

Eligibility Information

​

The Know Your Brain enterprise has established a Bursary to be awarded annually to one (1) graduating students who has had involvement with the Youth Justice System during some portion of their education. The value of the Bursary is 2000 dollars. It is non-renewable.

The recipients of this Bursary will be a graduating student from a Peel Public District School Board high school who is planning to pursue post-secondary studies at a recognized Canadian college or university in September of 2026 and for whom attendance at this college or university is challenged by limited financial resources.

Students who meet the selection criteria are requested to complete the Bursary Application Form by the submission date of May 30, 2026.

The recipient of the Bursary will be informed before the end of June, 2026. The decision regarding the recipient is final. 

Criteria for Selection

1. Demonstration that the Bursary will assist limited financial resources for the student to attend a recognized college or university in Canada.

2. Previous involvement with the Youth Justice System

3. Graduation in June 2026 from a Peel Public District School Board secondary school

4. Attendance at a recognized college or university in Canada in September of 2026

5. Completion of the questions on an application form. This form requires a brief endorsement from one adult as well as the signature of your secondary school principal. 

 

Use of Bursary

Payment of tuition fees directly to the educational institution to a maximum of 2000 dollars.
